Music Rules
Not much new to speak of, but loads of new music. Have found myself getting into the early work of The Who, and have thusly picked up some of their early albums, such as Sell Out, Meaty Beaty Big And Bouncy, and the deluxe editions of Live At Leeds and Who's Next. I've always liked The Who, but more as a casual listener. Am enjoying the more intensive listens to their stuff as well as the videos I've gotten, whether on the 'net or picked up in stores (bought the 2 disc The Kids Are Alright dvd and the Live at the Isle Of Wight 1970 dvd, both are awesome), and have downloaded some amazing footage spanning from 1965 to 1975. I had the same sort of relationship with The Rolling Stones, as a casual listener, and although I haven't gotten any of their stuff yet, save for Cocksucker Blues on dvd, and some other shows from '64 to '75 also on dvd. My favorite period of theirs is the Mick Taylor era, but enjoy the earlier stuff with Brian Jones as well. So I'll be grabbing all of those cd's at some point, but I'm still concentrating on The Who at the moment. I'm reading alot about Pete Townshend's Lifehouse project lately, especially with the purchase of Who's Next, and I think I'm gonna have to get The Lifehouse Chronicles from eelpie.com. Can't wait.
